MANTRA, SOUND AND VOICE DEMYSTIFIED

It seems like people often get scared at the idea of anything to do with 'voice', or that mantra is a strange and mystical practice only for serious or advanced yogis...
It's true, we grow up in a culture where singing is only for the 'talented', and so many of us are told we can't sing. But this is one reason I've discovered nada yoga, mantra and kirtan is so powerful - you can develop a whole new relationship with your voice through an understanding of what sound really is, and through using your voice with a different intention (than thinking you have to sound like Mariah Carey! ). I've witnessed so many people radically shift their relationship with their voices, profoundly deepen their experience of meditation, and find that elusive connection between the mind and the heart. And it's actually really simple - if you can breathe, you can use your voice in a meaningful and powerful way.
And mantra is not for 'advanced' yogis. Mantra is actually at the heart of most yoga lineages, but in the West we just don't know about it. It's a powerful tool for focusing and redirecting the mind (and getting ourself out of many of the negative thought patterns that seem to dominate the monkey mind); it creates a connection between the mind and the heart; it is actually an incredibly simple doorway into the power of sound and vibration, which has a huge effect on our consciousness. Through it we can easily experience connection and harmony. Remember, everything is vibration... (thank you, Einstein!).
So if you're thinking about coming but you're a little bit scared because you've never done anything like this before... that's perfect!
We'll guide you easefully and playfully into discovering and freeing your own natural voice, we'll demystify mantra and nada yoga, and you'll be able to experience for yourself the power of sound as one of the central tools of yoga.
And of course you'll still get all the other 'good bits' of yoga - asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, and sweet nature time.
This retreat is for all levels of yoga, voice and mantra experience. We'd love to share this experience with you!
